Problem
X-Cleaner is detecting a spyware application even after I've instructed X-Cleaner to remove it. After rebooting I reran the scan to find it's still on my machine. Is something wrong?

Solution
Adware, malware and dialers are much like computer or biological viruses as they can and do mutate often 100?s of times a week. The mutated file carries the same behavior as the original or source file - but are modified just enough to avoid removal but not detection.

In the case where X-Cleaner is detecting an infection but isn?t removing it then you will need to update X-Cleaner to make sure you have the latest copy.

Make sure you are connected to the internet and click the update button to download the latest signature file or click here to log into the members area

After you scan with the latest protection and X-Cleaner is still not removing the infection then contact our support desk after performing the following tasks.

  1. Click here to download this utility to your desktop.
  2. Double Click the Icon called X-RayPC
  3. Click Online Analyzer.
  4. Double Click Everything in RED (if none exist, then proceed to step 10)
  5. Close X-RayPC Scan
  6. Reboot
  7. Open Internet Explorer and set your home page to http://www.google.com for testing reasons.
  8. Close Internet Explorer
  9. Reboot
  10. Note how Windows is running - if your start page has changed.
  11. Email a X-RayPC Log by clicking "Save Log" and "Save File Type" AS "Hijackthis Compatible" and email that file called XrayPC.log as an attachment. Please follow this step closely. The Log file will be located on your desktop.
